Coastal Georgia Track claimed a national championship Friday at the Nike Outdoor Nationals in Eugene, Oregon, winning the Mixed 4x400-meter relay against some of the top high school athletes in the country.
The relay team featured Richmond Hill athletes Jayden Taylor, Maleaha Pritchett, Kendrick Joshua, and Trinity Perine. Running in that order, the group combined for a winning time of 3:28.14, finishing just shy of the meet record according to Coastal Georgia Track head coach Isaiah Taylor.

The meet is was not over as of this writing for several Coastal Georgia Track athletes.
Joshua was scheduled to compete later today in the 400-meter hurdles finals as he attempts to earn a spot on the U20 National Team. Timothy Alston also competed in the 110-meter hurdles as he pursues a berth on the national team.
Pritchett, a rising Richmond Hill senior, missed qualifying for the U20 National Team in the 400-meter hurdles, finishing one spot shy of advancing.
The national title is another accomplishment for the Coastal Georgia Track program that continues to produce athletes capable of competing with the best in the country.
The weekend is far from over. With Joshua, Alston, and several other Coastal Georgia Track athletes still scheduled to compete, the team will have more opportunities to add to an already memorable trip to Oregon.
