Savannah-area athletes brought home state titles, relay championships, and big team finishes this week at the GHSA State Track and Field Championships in Athens.
Bradwell Institute junior Jacobi Pasley also made history. According to Savannah Morning News sports writer Dennis Knight and Tiger coach DeAndré Pasley, Pasley became the first Georgia athlete to sweep the sprints in a GHSA state meet in any classification after winning the Class 5A 100, 200, and 400 meters.
From Richmond Hill and Benedictine finishing runner-up as teams to Bryan County taking second in Class 1A Division II girls competition, the Coastal Empire was well represented on the biggest stage in Georgia high school track and field.
Here is a look at the local first-place finishers from the state meet. See note below for more results.

State titles. School pride. Big moments on the track and in the field.
And for many athletes, this was just the beginning.
