PSR Power Rankings (Selected Local Teams)

GHSA Post-Season Ranking Formula (Full List Link - https://www.ghsa.net/schedule-ranking-view)

The GHSA’s official postseason ranking policy uses the Post-Season Ranking Formula (PSR) to objectively rank teams in certain classifications. This formula calculates a team's ranking based on their performance during the season, rather than relying solely on region standings.

The PSR is applied to select sports, including Football, Softball, Volleyball, Basketball, Baseball, Soccer, Tennis, and Lacrosse. For these, it is used to help rank teams for postseason play in specific school classifications.

  • Class A Division I (1A DI) Public
  • Class 2A
  • Class 3A
  • Class 3A-1A Private

In these classifications, the PSR determines which teams qualify for the playoffs and their playoff seeding, replacing the usual method in which playoff spots are decided solely by regional standings.

For Classes 4A through 6A, playoff qualifiers and seeding are determined by region standings instead of the PSR. The GHSA plans to apply the PSR formula to all classifications starting in the 2026-27 season.
