Savannah Teams Set for Playoff Weekend — Volleyball & Softball Sweet Sixteen Schedule and Times Posted

The postseason spotlight is on Savannah as local volleyball and softball teams who reached the GHSA Sweet Sixteen and GAPPS state semifinals. Several programs will play at home, while others travel, still chasing championship dreams.


Volleyball — Saturday, October 18, 2025

Class 6A

  • Richmond Hill (39-2) hosts Gwinnett 23-18), 1 p.m.

Class 5A

  • South Effingham (39-10) hosts Milton (25-15), 10 a.m.

Class 3A

  • Islands (19-12) travels to Oconee County (35-13), 6 p.m.

Class 2A

  • Savannah Arts (16-28) hosts Jackson (12-17), 10 a.m..

Class A – Public

  • Woodville-Tompkins (11-11) at Chattooga (32-12), 2 p.m.

Class A – Private

  • Savannah Christian (29-10) hosts Holy Innocents (18-17), 1 p.m.
  • Calvary Day (19-10) hosts Providence Christian (36-10), 10 a.m.
  • St. Vincent’s Academy (33-11) at North Cobb Christian (22-15), 2 p.m.

GAPPS Division I-A State Semifinals

  • The Habersham School (31-10) hosts Veritas (15-10), 11:30 a.m.
    The Patriots are just one win away from a trip to the GAPPS State Championship.

Fast-Pitch Softball — Monday–Tuesday, October 20–21, 2025

Class 6A

  • Richmond Hill (39-2) at North Gwinnett (28-3), 5 p.m.

Class 5A

  • Effingham County (19-22) hosts Seckinger (18-9), 5 p.m.
  • South Effingham (39-10) at Milton (17-10), 5 p.m.

Class A Division II

  • Bryan County (19-18) at Irwin County (24-2), 5 p.m.

Wednesday-Thursday, October 22-23, 2025 

Class 3A-1A Private

  • Savannah Christian (29-10) at Hebron Christian (26-9), 5 p.m.

What’s Next

Savannah’s best are chasing trips to the Elite Eight across both volleyball and softball. Richmond Hill, South Effingham, Savannah Arts, Calvary Day, and Effingham County will host, while Bryan County, St. Vincent’s, and Woodville-Tompkins will look to make noise on the road.
