SAVANNAH, GA. — Savannah Christian Preparatory School senior Emaline Haddad captured her third Georgia Independent Athletic Association (GIAA) Female State Individual Championship. The Championships took place at the Forest City Gun Club. It was a three-day competition last weekend, from October 30 to November 1, in sporting clays, skeet, and trap, adding another chapter to her standout career in clay target shooting.
Haddad once again earned the High Overall (HOA) honor, marking the third time in four years she has claimed the GIAA’s top female title — winning as a
freshman, junior, and now senior. This year, she delivered another standout performance, scoring an almost perfect 99 out of 100 in Trap, 94 in Skeet, and 71 in Sporting Clays for a total of 264 out of 300. Her accuracy, consistency, and composure under pressure set her apart from the competition.
“It feels really good because it feels like I’ve been rewarded for all the hard work that I’ve done over the past five years of shooting,” Haddad said. “It’s really nice to be able to be consistent and keep getting a High Overall after all these years.”
Haddad explained that focus and mental preparation have been key to her success — especially in Trap, where she missed just one shot.
“Yes, I only missed one shot, but I really just focus on counting my shells,” she said. “Everyone always laughs at me for this, but I always sing a song in my head every round. I pick a different song each time, and I just look down at the ground and try not to focus on other people’s shots — just kind of stay in the moment.”

Savannah Christian Prep head coach Connie Chambers said Haddad’s success reflects her unwavering drive and maturity.
“I think her level of commitment to the game. I think her confidence based on lots of experience and lots of practice. She’s a very determined young woman,” Chambers said.
Chambers added that Haddad’s leadership extends far beyond her own results.
“Emaline is just amazing at reaching out to the younger shooters and the more novice shooters to share what she’s learned,” Chambers said. “It’s not even just about specific types of clays or things you’ll see out there on the course — it’s also general stuff like your attitude and your peace and your calm and your trust. She just loves it and wants to be an influencer, a helper. She’s really good at that.”
When asked how she’s grown since her first championship, Haddad said her mental game has become her greatest strength.
“I just feel like I’ve been more determined, and over the years, mentally, I’ve grown stronger,” she said. “My mental game has improved, and I’ve put more time and effort into my practice and dedication to the sport.”
Haddad also shared that she hopes to continue competing after graduation.
“I would like to continue shooting in college,” she said. “I’m looking at Georgia Southern right now — their coaches reached out to me, and I’d really like to continue shooting in college.”
For Savannah Christian, Haddad’s third championship now stands as a program milestone.
“Her third state championship is just a huge help to us,” Chambers said. “It just raises that standard — not only for the young women shooters that we have, but for the whole team. It’s something to strive for… Anytime you have a student that is that dedicated to their game, it’s a huge help for us.”
With another state title to her name, Emaline Haddad continues to set the bar for excellence in Georgia high school shooting sports — and her legacy at Savannah Christian Prep will aim as high as her next target.
