GHSA state soccer playoffs start today - What 18 teams are looking to score a state championship?

Eighteen Georgia High School Association 2023 state soccer tournament first-round games involving Savannah Area boys and girls teams are set to kick off April 11-14. In GHSA Class 1A D1, Woodville Tompkins has a bye into round two, which starts on April 18, 2023. 

 

Here's a look at when and where each matchup will occur.

 

Tuesday, April 11

Class 7A girls: No. 4 seed Westlake (4-7) at No. 1 seed Richmond Hill (13-0) at 6 p.m.

 

Class 3A girls: No. 3 seed Richmond Academy (8-7) at No. 1 St. Vincent's Academy (10-3), 5 p.m.

 

Class 3A girls: No. 3 seed Harlem (12-5-1) at No. 2 Savannah Country Day (11-1), 6 p.m.

 

Class 3A girls: No. 3 seed Calvary Day School (9-4-2) at No. 2 Richmond Academy (8-7), 5:30 p.m.

 

Class 1A D1 girls: No. 3 seed Bryan County (2-10) at No. 2 Temple (8-5-1), 5:00 p.m.

 

Wednesday, April 12

Class 7A boys: No. 3 seed Carrolton (8-6-1) at No. 2 seed Richmond Hill (10-4-1), 5:30 p.m.

 

Class 3A boys: No. 4 seed Groves (6-4) at No. 1 Morgan County (7-5-2), TBA

 

Class 3A boys: No. 3 seed Richmond Academy (8-7) at No. 2 Savannah Christian (12-2-2), 6 p.m.

 

Class 3A boys: No. 4 seed Groves (6-4) at No. 1 Morgan County (7-5-2), TBA

 

Class 3A boys: No. 4 seed Hephzibah (2-8-1) at No. 1 Savannah Country Day County (11-2), 6 p.m.

 

Class 1A D1 boys: No. 4 seed Bryan County (2-10) at No. 1 Lamar Co. (11-5), 5:00 p.m.

 

Thursday, April 13

Class 4A girls: No. 3 seed Thomas County Central (9-5-1) at No. 2 seed Islands High School (8-5), 6 p.m.

 

Class 4A girls: No. 4 seed New Hampstead (2-10) at No. 2 seed Starr's Mills (11-7), 6 p.m.

 

Class 2A girls: No. 4 seed Tech Career (4-3) at No. 1 seed Savannah Arts Academy (13-3-1), 5 p.m. (Morris Field)

 

Friday, April 14

Class 6A boys: No. 3 seed Thomas County Central (9-5-1) at No. 2 seed South Effingham (13-3-1), TBA

 

Class 4A boys: No. 4 seed Troup County (9-5-1) at No. 1 seed Benedictine Military School (11-5), 6 p.m.

 

Class 4A boys: No. 3 seed Whitewater High School (13-3-1) at No. 2 seed Islands High School (13-4), 6 p.m.
