Habersham School, Veritas advance to state golf championship

The Habersham School and Veritas Academy earned spots in the Georgia Association of Private & Parochial Schools state golf tournament on April 23 at a qualifier played at the Club at Savannah Harbor.

Richmond Hill's Hayden Price, a homeschooled student who plays for The Habersham School, earned medalist honors in the region tournament with a nine-hole score of Even-par 36, and the Patriots' other scores included Braden Schnaible with 42, Tyler Shippy with 42 and Talyn Childress with 38. The low scorer for region runner up Veritas Academy was Shane Epperson with a 3-over par 39, and other counting scores included Madi Saxton's 40, Tommy Sottile's 49 and Will Inman's 66.

The GAPPS state tournament will be played May 6 at Bull Creek Golf Club in Midland, Georgia.
