The Habersham School Varsity and Middle School XC teams were back in action this week at the Stinger Invitational, 9/14, hosted by Savannah Christian.
On the varsity boys side, the Patriots were led by sophomore Daniil Phillips (18:51), who logged his second straight top 3 finish, placing 2nd overall among 119 runners and leading the team to a 2nd place overall finish among 12 scoring teams. He was followed by senior Tyson Harper, sophomore Tripp Fowler, senior Ike Barry, and freshman Seth Lenix.
The Varsity Girls were represented by freshman Ivy Ann Hogan, who finished 23rd out of 65 runners.
The Middle School Girls' team dominated with a perfect score, capturing 1st overall among six scoring teams and capturing the first five places. Eighth-grader Sadie McGarity finished first overall in a time of 13:36. Following close behind, 8th-grader Gaby Kenard earned 2nd, 6th-grader Ellie Stephen finished 3rd, 7th grader Holland Hogan finished in 4th, and 7th grader Eliana Beckman finished 5th.
6th grader Ryder Perdue (12:54) raced to first overall for the Habersham Middle School boys among 116 competitors, leading the team to a 3rd place finish. He was followed by 5th grader Foster McGarity, 7th grader Micah Ward, 8th grader Caedmon Hining, and 5th grader Luke Edwards.
The boys and girls team will compete next at the GAPPS Cannonball 5k, on 9/23, at the Georgia Premier XC Course I. Macon, GA.
