Hoop History: Jones & Spaulding Join 1000-point Clubs in Benedictine & Savannah Country Day Wins!

Two more Savannah area players made hoops history this past week. Benedictine defeated Beach, 50-32, on January 13, 2024, during which junior guard Caleb Jones reached his 1,000th career point. Jones leads BC in scoring with an average of 26.5 points per game, 5.2 rebounds and 2.7 assists and 16 points in the last game versus Beach. Three Cadet basketball players, including Jones, have joined the club since 2000. According to Benedictine's athletic department, the two previous players were Jabri Bryant (2010) and Trent Broadnax (2021).

 

On Tuesday, January 9, 2024, senior guard Robert Spaulding joined the Savannah Country Day Hornet basketball program's 1000-point club in a 62-52 victory over Savannah Christian. Robert is the 7th boy and 17th Country Day player to score over 1000 points. Rob has been a varsity player since 9th grade and has been a starter for three years. Spaulding is averaging 18 points, seven rebounds, and 2.6 assists for the Hornets this season.
