Jones leads BC basketball to Heathwood Hall Winter Classic championship

Benedictine senior Caleb Jones couldn't be contained during the Haathwood Hall Winter Classic played December 5-7 at Heathwood Hall Episcopal School in Columbia, S.C.

Jones scored 57 points in a 75-53 win over Patriot High School from Nokesville, Va., in the tournament's championship game on December 7. During the tournament, Jones averaged 43 points per game and is now averaging 41 points per game for the 4-0 Cadets.

In the first round, BC defeated Dillon Christan from Dillon, S.C., 75-30, behind 38 points from Jones, 9 points from sophmore EJ Washington and 7 points from sophomore Ca'Ron Hall. In the second round, the Cadets defeated the host school, Heathwood Hall Episcopal School, 54-37, with Jones scoring 34 and Hall contributing 8 points.

Jones was named the tournament's Most Outstanding Player, and Washington was selected for the All Tournament team. The Cadets next play at Hilton Head High School on December 10.
