Leaders after the first round of the Junior City Am include Scarano, Couch and Weeks

The first round of the 2020 Savannah Juniot City Amateur was played at Bacon Park on July 13, and three leaders grabbed overnight leads in the 36-hole event. 

In the Boys Open division played from the Gold Tees, Andrew Scarano carded a 4-over par 75 to take a one-shot lead over Jacob Fripp and William Whitfield. Branden Tigert will begin the second round only two strokes back after a 6-over par 77, and Dallas Hunter will start five shots back after posting 80 in the first round. 

In the Girls Open division played from the White Tees, two-time defending champion Erica Coach posted the lowest score of the day in any divison with a 3-over par 74. She leads Madi Saxton by two strokes and Abigail Cheney by four strokes. 

 

In the Boys 10-12 age group, Jack Weeks leads after a first-round score of 4-over 75 that included a chip-in birdie on the second hole. Weeks leads Hamp Threlkeld by two strokes and Lou Lively by three strokes, and Elliott Oliver, Bear Dollander and defending champion Chad Chadwell are withing striking distance.
