A Chatham County athlete was announced as a Positive Athlete State Winner from the Southeast Georgia region. The Positive Athlete Georgia Facebook page today honored Paul Mosley as the state winner in football. Mosley was a member of the Savannah Country Day football team.

Thirty sports are recognized by the Georgia branch of the Positive Athlete organization. Regional winners were posted in May. All regional winners were eligible to be a state-wide winner for their respective sport. In addition, schools nominated coaches. Fourteen athletes and two coaches in the Savannah Area earned regional honors from the organization.

What is Positive Athlete Georgia? As posted on the Positive Athlete Georgia website. Positive Athlete Georgia is a movement created to promote the benefits of "positivity" to young athletes in the communities throughout Georgia to shape the futures of young athletes for life skills beyond the athletic competition. The Positive Athlete is based more on character than athletic performance. Athletes demonstrate the seven characteristics of being a positive athlete. These traits are as follows, have an optimistic attitude, encouraging teammates, be a servant leader, have the heart for others, admit imperfections, always give 100%, and put the team first.
