Local Prep Baseball Players Receive All-State Honors

Georgia's premier source of recognizing high school baseball players and teams released its annual Georgia High School Assocaition All-State baseball team classification selections. Eighteen local players made either the first team, second team, and honorable mention teams of the Georgia Dugout Preview Magazine. Here is the complete list of the players.

Class AAAAAA Second Team

Leighton Finley, Junior, Pitcher -  Richmond Hill

Nick Milbrandt, Junior, Pitcher - South Effingham

Hunter Walthour, Junior, Outfield  - South Effingham

 

Honorable Mention

C/INF Aaron Benton, So., South Effingham

OF/RHP Luke Boone, Jr., Richmond Hill

CF/RHP Evan Cowan, Jr., Richmond Hill

The "Coach" Karl DeMasi has been teaching and coaching for the past 35 years on all levels of academia and athletics. One of his hobbies has been writing, announcing and talking about sports. DeMasi has been involved in the Savannah Area sports scene since 1995, and he created the high school magazine "The Prep Sports Report" in 2000. In 2010, the "Coach" started broadcasting The Karl DeMasi Sports Report. He's still going strong, broadcasting on Facebook live and Twitter live every Saturday morning. You gotta love it!
