Miller wins Georgia PGA Junior Championship for second year in a row

Savannah Christian rising senior prevailed in a two-hole playoff to win the Georgia PGA Junior Championship played June 5-7 at the Chattahoochee Golf Club in Gainesville, Ga.

Miller carded rounds of 69-72-74 to finish 54 holes a 1-under par and tied with Ava Merrill from Johns Creek, Ga. Miller was able to best Merrill in two extra holes, and both girls qualified for the 2023 Junior PGA Championships that will be played at Hot Springs Country Club in Hot Springs, Arkansas August 1-4.

Miller, who won the Georgia State Golf Association Women's Match Play Championship in Statesboro the week prior to the Georgia PGA Junior Championship, led wire-to-wire in Gainesville and led the field in birdies with 13. In 2022, Miller won the GSGA Girls Championship and will defend her title June 19-21 at the Country Club of Columbus in Columbus, Ga.

Savannah Christian teammate Ava Cottis carded scores of 76-76-78 at the Georgia PGA Junior Championship to finish 12th.
