Richmond Hill's Mahaffey qualifies for Georgia Amateur Championship

Richmond Hill's Patrick Mahaffey, a junior at Richmond Hill High School, posted a score of Even par 71 on May 12 at Sun City Peachtree Golf Club in Griffin, Ga., to qualify for a spot in the 104th Georgia Amateur Championship being played June 12-15 at Atlanta Country Club in Marietta, Ga.

Mahaffey was one of six players to earn a spot in the qualifier in Griffin, joining Jimmy Coleman from Cumming, Pete Stansell from Columbus, Alex Holcomb from Sandy Springs, Jack Gibbs from Johns Creek and Hugh Hollingsworth from Milton. Mahaffey made birdies on two of his last three holes to finish at Even par and make the cut for the Georgia Amateur Championship.
