Savannah Area Baseball Players Hit All-State Preseason Honors for 2022

Fifteen Savannah Area prep baseball players have been recognized as Preseason All-State team members for 2022 from various classifications by the Georgia Dugout Preview magazine. Since January 2007, the Georgia Dugout Preview magazine has been honoring high school baseball players and teams. It is Georgia's only magazine that does so. Eight players were named first team and seven made the second team. Who are they?

GDP nominated two South Effingham Mustangs and one Richmond Hill Wildcat to the Class AAAAA First Team; all seniors, pitcher Leighton Finley of Richmond Hill, South Effingham's pitcher Nick Milbrandt and teamamte designated hitter Hunter Walthout.  Infielder Cam Edge and outfielder Justin Thomas, senior Cadets from Benedictine, were recognized from Class AAAA. Bryan County junior outfielder Konner Leggett from Public Class A and in Class A Private, Savannah Christian junior outfielder Ely Brown, and Calvary Day School sophomore pitcher Will Hampton.

Richmond Hill senior outfielder Luke Boone and junior outfielder Evan Cowan and South Effingham junior catcher Aaron Benton were chosen to the GDP Magazine's Second Team in Class AAAAA. Benedictine senior outfielders Ben Hollerbach and Charles Pulaski were named Class AAAA second-team members, as did Islands senior outfielder Langston Lewis. Josh Gates, a junior catcher at Savannah Christian in Class A Private.
