Savannah Area Boys/Girls Soccer: Where does your team stand? Only five teams in the top ten state rankings

Here are the standings and rankings after Week 6 that the Prep Sports Report staff put together for the Savannah Area high school 2023 boys and girls soccer season. As reported by the school's coaching staff, the standings are from the MaxPreps website as of March 27, 2023.

Five teams are in the top ten of their respective Georgia High School Association classifications, found on scorbord.com. Scorbord.com used to be EurosportScoreboard.com, the leading soccer source in the United States for soccer coaches.

In GHSA 4A Islands High School (12-2/6-0), boys are #6, GHSA boys 3A Savannah Country Day (9-1/4-0) is #7, and Savannah Christian (9-2-1/1-2) is #9. In GHSA 1A D1, boys are Woodville-Tompkins (8-4/ at #8. The only girl's team ranked is in GHSA 2A, and that's the Savannah Arts Academy.

In a thrilling girls' soccer match, Savannah Country Day emerged . . .

The "Coach" Karl DeMasi has been teaching and coaching for the past 35 years on all levels of academia and athletics. One of his hobbies has been writing, announcing and talking about sports. DeMasi has been involved in the Savannah Area sports scene since 1995, and he created the high school magazine "The Prep Sports Report" in 2000. In 2010, the "Coach" started broadcasting The Karl DeMasi Sports Report. He's still going strong, broadcasting on Facebook live and Twitter live every Saturday morning. You gotta love it!
