Savannah Area Hoops Roundup: A State Title; Sweet 16 wins, and It Continues Today

Savannah Area Basketball: Memorial Day Wins State Title; Sweet 16 Continues Today

Savannah-area teams had a big night Friday, and more state playoff games are set for today.

Memorial Day School won the GIAA Class A girls state championship with a 51-38 win over Citizens’ Christian Academy at Columbus State. In the boys championship, St. Andrew’s finished as state runner-up after a 61-40 loss to Brookwood.

In the GHSA girls playoffs, Jenkins advanced with a 58-41 win over Lumpkin County. Bryan County fell to Brooks County, 53-47, and Savannah Country Day lost to Whitefield Academy, 70-40.

Here is a look at Friday’s final scores and today’s schedule.
