Savannah Christian Preparatory's baseball team is on a roll. The Raiders have won nine straight games. In a three-game series in a Georgia High School Region 3-1A Private match up with rival  Savannah Country Day School and in the second game, the Raiders clinched their sixth straight region title with a 9-2 victory. It was a 1-0 game going into the fifth inning. Then the Raiders broke the game open in the fifth and sixth innings scoring eight runs. Here's how it happened.

In the top of the fifth inning, the Raiders put two runners on base. Junior Trent Lanier walked. Then junior catcher Josh Gates doubled, putting two runners on base with one out. The Hornets pitcher Cade Garola on in relief, struck out the next Raider batter. Then Junior Eli Brown steps into the box and hits a three run home run to right field to give Savannah Christian a 4-0 lead they never relinquished. Brown had five runs batted in for the game. The Raiders would go on to score five more runs in the top of the sixth, highlighted by a Gates two-run home run making it 8-0. The Raiders would  add one more run in the inning for a 9-0 lead. On the hill, Raider junior Daegan Strickland threw a complete game going seven innings, allowing six hits, one earned run, and striking out six Hornets for the win.

Savannah Christian kept the winning streak going in game three in a shootout with Savannah Country Day with a 14-6 win. The Raiders improve their record to 17-3 overall and sit atop Region 3-1A Private at 8-1 with the region schedule completed. As you can see below, the Raiders have nine remaining games against some top teams in the area and state that will prepare them for a GHSA state championship baseball run.
