Savannah Christian Preparatory School track and field standout athlete Jamari McIvory, took home gold at the  2022 AAU Club National Championship in the 15-16-year-old division in the 400-meter race. Jamari was running for the Coastal Georgia Track & Field team.

Jamari had the best time in the preliminaries and had the inside lane to start. His winning time was 48.80. The race took place at Dr. Phillips High School in Orlando, Florida, yesterday, July 16, 2022.

"Jamari has been running in the 48's consistent since the Georgia High School Association sectionals, so it's not surprising after he won the state in the 400 meters already. He's very talented. He has yet to hit his full running potential," said SCPS Head Track and Field Coach Deedee Colter.

McIvory has had an outstanding track season. He won the GHSA Class A 400-meter championship in May. Jamari is a three-sport athlete at SCPS. He also plays football and basketball.
