Savannah Country Day School Athletic Kenny Conroy is pleased to announce Taylor Brown as our new Lacrosse Program Director, Varsity Head Coach, and Middle School Athletic Director. Coach Brown comes to us from Washington, DC, where he has led the Lacrosse and Physical Education programs at Georgetown Day School since 2013. Coach Brown has coached lacrosse for over 17 years and has worked with teams at various levels, including high school, college, and club teams.

Coach Brown enjoyed a successful collegiate career at Springfield College, earning All-American honors in all four seasons as an attackman for the Pride. After graduating from Springfield, he was an assistant lacrosse coach at Virginia Wesleyan College in Norfolk, Virginia, before moving to Georgetown Day School. He also assisted and coached at New England Top 150 Lacrosse, an elite high school summer program, for over twenty years.

During the search and interview process, his references commented on his positive coaching style and emphasis on teamwork, communication, and sportsmanship.

In addition to his lacrosse and administrative responsibilities, Coach Taylor will teach Middle School P.E., assist with Middle School football, and oversee the weight room during the winter semester. His experience, energy, and vision will be a valued asset to our athletic program.

“I am excited and grateful to serve the student athletes at Country Day,” states Coach Brown. ”I have devoted my career to mentoring and developing young players and I look forward to the continued growth of the County Day lacrosse program.”

Please join me in welcoming Coach Taylor, his wife, Perry, and their children Tucker (age 5), Bailey (4), and Grant (2) to Savannah Country Day. A parent and player, Meet and Greet event will take place after the start of school. Finally, Savannah Country Day School would like to thank departing Head Lacrosse Coach Rick Barron for his three years of service to our program and players. We wish Rick, his wife Mary, and their young son James all the best as they relocate to be closer to family.
