In July, two football players considered some of the best Savannah football players ever will give back to their hometown.

Savannah's Nolan Smith Jr., who attended Calvary Day School and the IMG Academy in Florida, became a two-time national champion at the University of Georgia. Smith was an NFL first-round draft pick of the Philadelphia Eagles this year. Nolan has teamed up with another Savannah standout football player, Winsron Wright Jr.

Winston Wright Jr., who graduated from Memorial Day School, will be a redshirt junior at Florida State this season. Before Florida State, Wright spent three seasons at West Virginia. In the three years at West Virginia, Winston played 33 games and started 16. He caught 129 passes for 1,338 yards and seven scores. He also ran back 50 kickoffs for 1,236 yards and two touchdowns. On June 15, 2023, it was announced that Wright would co-host the Pups Day Out Youth Football Camp.

Smith and Wright will work with other local coaches to give participants advice and hands-on football training. Primary football skill stations, competitions, games, and talks will be in a fun and upbeat environment.

The Pups Day kickoffs for 14–17-year-old high school football players will be held Friday night, July 14, from 6–8 p.m.

On Saturday, July 15, from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m., the second football camp for football players ages 10 to 13 will occur.

Both camps are free and will be at Floyd E. Morris Field (Daffin Park). Sign up by clicking here - 2023  Nolan Smith Jr. & Winston Wright Jr. Pups Day Out
