The Savannah Junior Golf Association teed it up for the second event of 2020 on June 15 at the Deer Creek Golf Course at the Landings Club.

Deer Creek hosts the Savannah Golf Classic Korn Ferry Tour tournament each year, giving the SJGA players a chance to play a true championship layout. The juniors faced a stiff 15-20 mph wind thorughout the day, but the round featured some outstanding indvidual perfomances.

Erica Couch won the Girls Open division with an 87, and and Hayden Price won the Girls Division with an 88. On the boy’s side, the Threlkeld brothers, Hughes and Hamp, won their respective divisions. Hughes carded a 75 for a three-stroke victory and Hamp bested his brother by one stroke with a 74 to win the 10-12 division by a stroke over Elliott Oliver.  Other boys’ winners were Talyn Childress with an 83 to win the boy’s 13-14 age group and Tyler Tift with a 92 to capture the 15-18 division.
