Savannah Quarterback Club 2024 Finale: Celebrating Savannah's Football's Best!

As the 2024 high school football regular season ended, the Savannah Quarterback Club held its last two meetings of the year, honoring offensive and defensive players of the week as has been the tradition every week. 

Week 12 Players of the Week:

Offense

Jaysen Jackson, Senior QB, Windsor Forest High School

Jackson completed 18 of 25 passes for 325 yards and five touchdowns, leading the Knights to a 43-38 win over Groves. 

Defense

Athen Hudspeth, Junior DB, Savannah Christian

Hudspeth made nine tackles, including six solo and two for a loss, in Savannah Christian's 14-7 victory over Toombs County. The win secured the Raiders' undefeated regular season.

Week 13 Players of the Week:

Calvary Day School Sweeps Awards

The Savannah Quarterback Club recognized Calvary's legendary head coach, Mark Stroud, for his exceptional coaching career as he retires. As of the night of the meeting Coach Stroud has 272 wins spanning 33 seasons, with 16 of those at Calvary Day School.

Co-Offensive Players of the Week

James Mobley IV, Sophomore QB

Mobley completed 19 of 24 passes for 211 yards and two touchdowns, adding 12 rushing yards in a game against Long County. With this victory, the Cavaliers wrapped up the season with an undefeated record in their region.

Thomas Blackshear, Senior WR/RB

Blackshear caught six passes for 64 yards and a touchdown in the game against the Blue Tide. On the season to date, through eight games, Blackshear has 37 catches for 847 yards and 13 TDs, averaging 106 yards per game, according to the SQB Club.
