Savannah, Richmond Hill golfers selected for Georgia High School Golf Coaches Association All Stars

Richmond Hill High School's Amanda Puchales and Alexa Mohler and Benedictine Military School's Chad Chadwell and Jack Weeks competed for the South Team at the Georgia High School Golf Coaches Association North/South matches played June 11-12 at Sunset Country Club in Moultrie, Ga. 

The North All-Stars won the match play event by a final score of 21-15, and the South now leads the overall series by a tally of 9-8. Players were chosen for their performance on the golf course as well as in the classroom and in leadership positions in the community. 

In the four-ball match, Puchales and Caroline Brown from LaGrange, Ga., defeated Emily Minish from Canon, Ga., and Mallory Higgins from Cornelia, Ga., 3&2; Mohler and Adeline Laney from Carrolton, Ga., defeated Aubree Hill from Bishop, Ga., and Lillie Mallis from Gainseville, Ga., 3&2. Chadwell and Luke Hylton from Quitman, Ga., lost 2-down to Will Bowens from Commerce, Ga., and Blake Goodroe from Danielsville, Ga., and Weeks and Randall James from Kingsland, Ga., lost 4&2 to Nolan Henderson and Madden Drake from Elberton, Ga.

In the singles matches on the second day of the event, Weeks lost 2&1 to Connor Fitch from Roswell, Ga., and Chadwell lost 1-down to Grant Smith from Roswell. Puchales defeated Josey Buford from Watkinsville, Ga., 5&4 to finish undefeated in the event, and Mohler lost 2&1 to Sydney Marshall from Milton, Ga.
