Savannah's Lotter finishes T15 at Porter Cup

Savannah's Reed Lotter, a Savannah Country Day School alumnus and current Auburn University golfer, carded scores of 72-72-69-69 to finish 2-over and T15 at the prestigious Porter Cup played July 12-15 at Niagra Falls Country Club in Lewiston, New York.

Lotter, who earned a place on the Southeastern Confernce All Freshman Team and was a member of the SEC 2022-23 First year Academic Honor Roll, carded scores of 1-under 69 in his last two rounds to climb the leaderboard. The Porter Cup is a 72-hole elite amateur golf tournament played annually since 1959 and won by some of the most prominent golfers in the history of the game - including Savannah's Brian Harman as well as Phil Mickelson, David Duval, Scott Verplan and Ben Crenshaw.

Lotter's scoring avearage of 70.89 shots per round through 27 rounds of competition is the second-best by an Auburn freshman, and he tied a freshman record with 19 rounds at or below par. He finished inside the top 20 in all but two tournaments and inside the top 10 twice, and he was voted SEC Freshman of the Week three times.
