Savannah's Hamp Threlkeld, a sophmore at Benedictine Military School, and Statesboro's Grant Odom teamed up to card a score of 9-under 63 and win the weather-shortened Southeastern Junior Golf Tour Four Ball played at Doublegate Country Club in Albany, Ga.
The tournament was scheduled to be 36 holes, but inclement weather on February 4 interrupted the second round. Eventually the second round was cancelled, and Threlkeld and Odom were declared the winners for their performance in the first round.
Playing in the best ball format, Threlkeld and Odom combined for seven birdies and an eagle to edge the team of Will Jackson from Palmetto, Ga., and Jackson Cavanaugh from Newnan, Ga., by one stroke. Benedictine freshman Bear Dollander teamed with Landon Noble from Sharpsburg, Ga., to post a score of 3-under par 69 and finish T10.
Benedictine seniors Clayton Ruchalski and Whit Watson also paired to card a score of 2-under par 70 and finish T16. Visit SJGT Fourball Leaderboard for full results and scoring!
