Savannah United select side wins at Florida Elite Winter Invitational

The Savannah United 2011 Premier team traveled to Palm Coast, Florida for the Florida Elite Soccer Academy Winter Invitational and brought home a championship trophy.

Led by leading scorer London Lemus, supporting goals from Yassin Elgendy and Brooks Storey-Pitts and excellent goalkeper play from Brody Sheridan, the Savannah United side won four straight games and onkly surrrendered one goal. The team defeated Florida Elite SA Tallahassee ECNL RL 2-0, Richmong Magic Elite 4-1, Space Coast United SC ECNL 1-0 and Florida Elite SA ECNL RL 3-0.

The 2011 team is no stranger to accomplishment, having won the Georgia Premier League in the fall  tournaments to qualify to be promoted to play in the National League Piedmont Conference for the spring season. The Piedmont Conference is one of 13 conferences that fall under the scope of the US Youth Soccer Leagues Program and operate at a multi-state level, offering its teams an opportunity to advance to the US Youth Soccer Southern Regional Championships held annually each summer.

The 2011 team's roster for the Florida Elite Soccer Winter Invitational included Solomon Benjamin, Theo Cohen, Stefan Domazet, Yassin Elgendy, Maddox Farkas, Miles Holland, Riley Jalosky, Gabriel Jenkins, London Lemus, Ryder Perdue, Charlie Rodenberg, Jordan Schultz, Brody Sheridan, Kyle Simpson and Brooks Storey-Pitts. The team was coached by Jeff Storey-Pitts and managers included Krista Domazet and Joanna Rodenberg.

Savannah United is the premier youth soccer club in Savannah, Georgia. The club strives to promote the growth of youth soccer in Savannah, Georgia as well as the surrounding communities by providing high quality soccer programs for players of all ages and ability levels.
