Savannah-area GHSA basketball teams battled in the state playoffs Friday and Saturday. Baseball, lacrosse, and soccer teams were also in action across the Coastal Empire.

On the girls' side, Jenkins took care of business with a strong 58-41 win over Lumpkin County, and Bradwell’s girls stayed perfect, beating Tri-Cities 45-37 to punch their ticket to the Elite Eight. That’s what playoff basketball is all about—earning one more day together.

For the boys, Calvary Day answered the horn with a 51-47 win over Greater Atlanta Christian and moved on. Savannah High battled Turner County before coming up short 60-56, and Bradwell dropped a hard-fought 64-59 game to Tri-Cities. Savannah Christian, coming off two tough, close games just to get there, ran into a strong Mt. Vernon team and fell 71-43. It’s never easy walking off that floor for the last time, but those lessons and memories stay with you long after the final buzzer.
