Tennis Triumphs: Savannah Country Day, Savannah Christian, Benedictine, Effingham, St. Vincent's, and South Effingham Dominate Round One!

Some impressive victories were recorded in the tennis playoff matches held on Tuesday in various classifications of the Georgia High School Association (GHSA) and the Georgia Association of Private and Parochial Schools.

 

East Laurens was victorious over Bryan County Boys in GHSA A DI. Meanwhile, in GHSA 3A, Savannah Country Day Girls and Boys dominated Upson Lee with convincing 5-0 wins each. St. Vincent's secured a win over Pike Co. with a score of 4-1. Savannah Christian Boys and Girls also showed their skills by defeating Jackson with 5-0 victories. Mary Persons defeated Calvary Girls by a score of 5-0.

 

In GHSA 4A Benedictine, they claimed a 5-0 win against Westside Macon, while Islands Boys narrowly defeated Perry with a score of 3-2. Howard also managed to secure a victory over the Islands High School girls with a 3-2 victory.

Effingham Boys and South Effingham Girls shut out Rockdale Co. with a 5-0 win in 6A competition.

 

In the Georgia Association of Private and Parochial Schools (GAPPS), Habersham School Boys and Girls were crowned Division 1 Region Champions.

 

Looking at today's schedule, there's going to be more tennis action on the court. The Bryan County Girls are set to host East Laurens in GHSA 1A. Savannah Arts Girls and Boys are set to visit Ace Charter in GHSA 2A, and Effingham County Girls will face Woodward in GHSA 6A.

 

Richmond Hill Boys will be hosting Grayson in the GHSA 7A match-up. The GHSA 3A action is set to continue this Thursday with the Calvary Boys on the raod against Pike County at Gordan State.
