The Habersham School Running Patriots Open Season Strong

The Habersham School Varsity and Middle School Cross Country team opened the 2023 season on Tuesday, 9/5, at the Frazier-Hite Invitational. The Varsity Boys ran to a 4th place overall team finish among eight scoring schools, while the Middle School Boys and Girls finished first among five scoring schools. Southeast Bulloch High School hosted the meet at the challenging 7th Mile Farm course near Statesboro, GA. 

Sophomore Daniil Phillips captured 4th overall, leading the Patriot varsity with a season-opening time of 19:43. Senior Tyson Harper, sophomore Tripp Fowler, senior Ike Barry, and freshman Isaiah Stephens rounded out the scorers for Habersham. 

In the Middle School race, the girl's team captured the top four spots, led by eighth grader Sadie McGarity in 1st at 14:12, followed by Ellie Stephens (2nd), Gaby Kenard (3rd), and Eliana Beckman (4th). 

The Middle School boys' team was led by sixth grader Ryder Perdue, who finished 1st overall at 13:00, and seventh grader Micah Ward, who finished 3rd overall. 

The Varsity will next compete in the Jackets' Catch' Em Challenge Invitational 2023 on Saturday, 9/9, at the Evans Public Fishing Area. 
The Middle School will compete in SCDS Middle School Mile on Wednesday, 9/6.
