The local volleyball scene is in full swing after a full slate of matches on Tuesday, August 26, and Wednesday, August 27. MaxPreps.com has a ranking system and for the Savannah Area teams, seven ar ranked in the top 10. Richmond Hill is holding the No. 1 spot with an impressive 11-1 record, while The Habersham School, Effingham County High School, South Effingham High School, St. Vincent’s, Savannah Christian, and Calvary Day are among other area programs making noise.

On Wednesday, St. Vincent’s picked up two solid sweeps, beating both Savannah High (2-0) and Savannah Country Day (2-1). St. Andrew’s also showed strength, defeating Islands 3-0.
Rankings do matter to smoe players and fans alike, providing a weekly look where teams stand and fueling rivalries across the Coastal Empire. Richmond Hill leads the Savannah Area Top 10, followed by The Habersham School at No. 3 and St. Vincent’s at No. 4. Savannah Christian comes in at No. 7, while Calvary Day (No. 9) and Effingham County (No. 10) round out the list.
Tonight’s schedule promises more excitement. Richmond Hill travels to Savannah Christian at 6 p.m. in a marquee matchup between ranked programs. Other highlights include Jenkins at Calvary Day (5 p.m.), Islands at Calvary Day (6 p.m.), and Memorial Day School visiting Savannah High (7 p.m.).
