The top prep kicker in Georgia is going to stay in the state. Benedictine senior Connor Ferguson made it official on Monday, announcing his intention to join the University of Georgia after de-committing from the University of Charlotte, which he committed to on January 17. Based on Kohl's Kicking Service, Ferguson is the best prep kicker in Georgia and is ranked seventh in the nation among kickers in the 2025 class.

Ferguson got the offer to join the Bulldogs as a preferred walk-on, as is stated on his social media page. In his final season at Benedictine, Ferguson made 15 of 18 field goal attempts. He is the Cadet record holder for the longest field goal in school's football history after kicking a 52-yard field goal on October 31 in a win against New Hampstead. He was 45-46 on extra point kicks this season also.
Besides being the field goal kicker, Connor punted and kicked off for the Cadets this season. He had touchbacks (kicking the ball in the endzone) on 82% of his kickoffs, averaging 38.8 yards as the punter, with only seven of 47 punts returned. He had 17 punts that landed inside the opponent's 20-yard line. He was selected as a Class 4A All-State first-team player by the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. Also, Ferguson was honored with All-Greater Savannah first-team recognition for the second consecutive time.
Fergusson joins Savannah Christian's Elijah Griffin at UGA. Griffin is already on campus, graduating early from SCPS and enrolling at UGA. The Bulldogs will open the 2025 campaign in Athens on August 30, hosting Marshall.
