Who scored the Grassi Roofing and Coach's Corner basketball Players of the Week?

The Grassi Roofing Girls and Coach's Corner Boy's Basketball Week 14 Players of the Week are Stella Oelschig, Savannah Country Day School, and the Coach's Corner Boy's Basketball Player of the Week is Tyler Tift, the Habersham School.

 

Below is the information for these two players who had impressive numbers on the basketball court to earn the player of the week awards.

 

Grassi Roofing/Prep Sports Report Girl's Basketball Player of the Week

 

This Grassi Roofing/Prep Sports Report Girl's Basketball Player of the Week Award for February 6 to February 11, 2023, the season goes to Stella Oelschig, Savannah Country Day School.

School: Savannah Country Day School

Sport: Girl's Basketball

Week:  February 6 - February 11, 2023

 

 

Highlights: Last week, on Tuesday, February 7, 2023, in a big region matchup versus Calvary Day School, Stella scored 26 points, grabbed eight rebounds, had four assists, and five steals. Then on Friday, February 10, 2023, against AE Beach High School, Oelschig scored 22 points, pulled down five rebounds, and added four assists and six steals.

 

Coaches Comments: "Stella is the motor that makes us go. She handles the workload and gets everyone involved. She has taken her game to the next level down the home stretch," said Savannah Country Day School head girl basketball coach Kenny Conroy.

 

Coach's Corner/Prep Sports Report Boy's Basketball Player of the Week

 

This Coach's Corner/Prep Sports Report Boy's Basketball Player of the Week Award goes to Tyler Tift of The Habersham School for February 6 to February 11, 2023.

 

 

Player: Tyler Tift, senior guard

School: The Habersham School 

Sport: Boy's Basketball

Week: February 6 - February 11, 2023

 

Highlights: In 2 games last week, Tift scored 40 points, with six rebounds, 14 steals, and 18 assists against Heritage Christian Academy on February 9, 2023, and Trinity Christian School on February 10, 2023.

 

Coaches Comments: "Tyler Tift's game speaks for itself. You watch the guy play and you know he's a great player. He can score from anywhere on the floor as well as facilitate and distribute to get his teammates involved. He's a hard worker and a hustler. As a captain, he leads our team with humility-- always encouraging and challenging his teammates in our pursuit of excellence. Most importantly, Tyler is a man of integrity and high character. He's an example of the kind of young man at our school and our program aim to develop. I love Tyler Tift and count it as an honor and privilege to be his coach," said The Habersham School boy's head coach Gardner Pippin.
