A.E. Beach High School announces New Top Dog

A.E. Beach High School announced former assitant coach Michael Thompson as the school's new head football coach. Thompson replaces Corey Phillips, who is still recovering from a stroke suffered on the sidelines last year.

As a head coach Thompson's resume is impressive. Michael led Memorial to six Georgia Independent School Assoication football state titles in 2008, ’09, ’13, ’14, ’15 and ’17 in Class 2A and GISA Class A state runner-up finishes in 2010 and ’11.  In basketball as the head coach, Thompson led the Matedors to two state titles.

The "Coach" Karl DeMasi has been teaching and coaching for the past 35 years on all levels of academia and athletics. One of his hobbies has been writing, announcing and talking about sports. DeMasi has been involved in the Savannah Area sports scene since 1995, and he created the high school magazine "The Prep Sports Report" in 2000. In 2010, the "Coach" started broadcasting The Karl DeMasi Sports Report. He's still going strong, broadcasting on Facebook live and Twitter live every Saturday morning. You gotta love it!
