Week Five high school baseball polls are posted. Local schools, Benedictine and Savannah Christian, held their spots in the Georgia Dugout Preview Magazine Polls rankings from last week.
Benedictine (11-0) went 4-0 this week to remain undefeated. The Cadets are still ranked No. 3 in Class AAAA after defeating Southeast Bulloch 2-1, taking down New Hampstead 16-0, and Liberty County 17-1 by the run rule. Yesterday in the Cadet's first region game of the season, it was another shortened game as BC defeated H. V. Jenkins 16-1.
Savannah Christian (9-6) remained No. 6 in Class 1A Private after snapping a five-game losing streak. The Raiders dropped the first game of a big cross-town region rival series against Calvary Day School. This year in region 3 - A Private regular season scheduling, each team will play a three-game series against each in three consecutive games. The Raiders and Cavaliers did this last weekend. Calvary took game one on a wild 5-4 win in 10 innings on Friday night. The Raiders rebound Saturday to take the doubleheader 7-2 and 7-3, respectfully.
