Benedictine's Dollander medals at Class AAAA state tournament

Benedictine Military School sophomore Bear Dollander ran away with medalist honors at the Georgia High School Association Class AAAA state tournament after finishing 36 holes 10-under par at Governors Towne Club in Acworth, Ga., May 19-20.

Dollander carded scores of 66-68 to claim the individual state championship by four strokes over Blake Goodroe from Madison County High School and Cole Stockard from Dalton High School. Dollander finished second at the Class AAAA state tournament as a freshman in 2024, and he won low medalist in the Georgia Association of Private & Parochial Schools DII state golf tournament as as an 8th grader playing for the Habersham School in 2023.

Benedictine finished third at the Class AAAA state tournament with a total score of 4-over par for 36 holes. Sophomore Jack Weeks finished 23rd after rounds of 72-76, junior Hamp Threlkeld was T28 after posting scores of 80-73, and junior Chad Chadwell was also T28 with scores of 78-75. During the first round, freshamn Alex Dao contributed a score of 3-over par 75 in his first appearance in the state tournament.
