Savannah, GA - Bethesda Academy's (11-0) Noah Jenkins ran for 273 yards and four touchdowns, and the Bethesda defense forced seven turnovers as the Blazers defeated Greenwood Christian Academy (4-7) 50-6 in the first round of the South Carolina Independent Schools Association Class AA playoffs on Friday night November 3, 2023.
Bethesda jumped out to a 14-0 lead in the first quarter on a Ralo Wesley interception return for a touchdown and a Noah Jenkins 1-yard run. The Blazers added two more touchdowns in the second quarter, including a 24-yard run by Jenkins, to take a 20-0 lead into halftime.
Greenwood Christian Academy got on the board in the fourth quarter after a scoreless third quarter with an Owen Whitinngton 58-yard touchdown pass from Kade Heaton. The two-point conversion failed, and then Bethesda answered with three more touchdowns to seal the victory.
With the win, Bethesda hosts a SCISA semi-final playoff game as they will face Northside Christian Academy (6-4) this Friday, November 10, 2023, at Daffin Park at 6 PM.
