Greensboro, N.C.: Corey Stafford claimed the top spot in the Championship Division 100-meter dash at the 2025 Adidas Track Nationals, finishing in 10.48 seconds to win the national title on June 22. The former Jenkins High School standout improved significantly from his 12th-place finish at last year's event, where he ran 10.71.
Stafford outran a strong field of sprinters nationwide, including Alijah Monroe of Trackmasterz, NC (10.60) and Andre Bell of the Gazelles of Durham, NC (10.76).
With the win in Greensboro, Stafford caps off an outstanding high school career. Stafford won the Georgia High School Association (GHSA) Class 3A 100-meter state title with a 10.43 and added a 200-meter state crown in 21.13, a time that ranked sixth in Georgia across all classifications. He also anchored Jenkins' 4x100 relay team to a state championship finish 41.12. Earlier in the season, he recorded a personal-best 100m time of 10.30, the third-fastest in Georgia this year. As a freshman at Bethesda Academy, he also captured the South Carolina Independent Schools Association (SCISA) 100-meter race title to claim his first state championship.
With one more race today at 2 p.m. in the 200 meters, Stafford's high school chapter is now complete. Stafford is set to continue his athletic career at Dodge City Community College in Kansas, where he will compete in both football and track. His focus now shifts to collegiate competition and building on a firm foundation established in Savannah.
