The Savannah Quarterback Club concluded its 79th season on Monday, gathering local players, coaches, and supporters to celebrate the 2025 high school football regular season.

The club meets each Monday during the season to recognize top performers from across Chatham County. In Weeks 11 and 12, honorees represented some of the area’s strongest programs and performances during the GHSA and SCISA regular season.

Along with recognizing local talent, the Savannah Quarterback Club also features guest speakers during its weekly meetings. At the Week 11 huddle, former Georgia quarterback Eric Zeier reflected on his record-setting Bulldogs career, his NFL tenure, and his role as a Georgia football analyst. For Week 12, longtime college sports broadcaster Mark Packer, of SiriusXM and ESPN, shared insights on the college football world and his professional experiences.

Benedicitne Military School's Eron Mallard, Betheda Academy Isaiah Redmond, Jenkins’ Calvin Wallace, and Savannah Country Day’s Thomas Holland, close out the season as the final honorees. Read below why.

Week 11 Players of the Week

Offense – Eron Mallard, Benedictine Military School
Benedictine wide receiver Eron Mallard had a breakout performance against Perry on October 17, catching four passes for 138 yards and scoring two touchdowns. Both touchdowns were on receptions over 40 yards, underscoring his ability to deliver big plays that contributed to the Cadets’ 41-17 victory.

Defense – Isaiah Redmond, Bethesda Academy
Bethesda senior defensive lineman Isaiah Redmond dominated the line of scrimmage in the Blazers’ 49-0 win over Pee Dee Academy on October 24. Redmond recorded 15 total tackles, including 8 solo stops, helping Bethesda advance to the SCISA 2A championship game. In his first season with the Blazers, Redmond accumulated 91 tackles, 17 tackles for loss, 7 sacks, and 3 fumble recoveries over the season.

Week 12 Players of the Week

Offense – Thomas Holland, Savannah Country Day School
Savannah Country Day junior quarterback Thomas Holland became a two-time Savannah Quarterback Club Player of the Week after accounting for all five of the Hornets’ touchdowns in a 35–12 win over Vidalia on October 31. Holland rushed for 137 yards and scored five touchdowns—three rushing and two passing—to close the season with a standout effort.

Holland said being recognized twice this season was something he never expected.

“It feels great. I never thought this would happen to me, and I’m just happy to be here,” Holland said. “My teammates have been so supportive, and my family is stoked about it. They haven’t stopped talking about it.”

Defense – Calvin Wallace, Jenkins High School
Jenkins senior defensive back Calvin Wallace made a major impact in the Warriors’ 56–6 win over Johnson on October 31, recording two interceptions and four pass breakups. His defensive efforts helped limit the Atom Smashers to only six points.

Wallace said the award reflects the hard work of his teammates and the support of his coaches.

“It helps me know that all our hard work got me to this point,” Wallace said. “My parents and teammates were proud, and it means a lot for the program. It shows that no matter where you play, you can still be recognized if you put in the effort.”

One More Meeting - The Bowl Party

The annual Bowl Party, held on the Saturday before the Super Bowl, features a guest speaker, awards for top offensive and defensive players and team of the year, and a four-year scholarship for deserving student-athletes.
