The Calvary Day School Lady Cavs and St. Vincent's Academy Saints flag football teams won the first and second rounds of the Georgia High School State Association Class 1-4 state playoffs last night, November 29, 2022. Only two of the six Savannah area schools that appeared in the Georgia High School State Association Championships moved onto the Elite Eight.

New Hampstead moved on to the second round with a big win over Lowndes High School 33-0. The Phoenix took on the defending state champions SE Bulloch in the second round and lost 19-0. SE Bulloch has not lost a game since starting play in GHSA Flag Football last year. Savannah Country Day and Richmond Hill lost close first-round games to end their seasons.

Calvary defeated Savannah Country Day 12-0 and Wheeler Co. 26-12. St. Vincent shut out both opponents, Beach and Dodge Co, 24 -0. Both Area champions now advance to the Elite Eight round.

If Calvary and St. Vincent's win, they will move on to the GHSA Flag Football Final Four on Monday, December 5, 2022, at the Atlanta Falcons Training Facility in Flowery Branch, Georgia.
