Calvary Day School will be well represented at the college level on the volleyball court and softball field for the next four years. Who were they?

Tynley Smeltzer goes on to the College of Charleston to play volleyball on the court and at the beach. Three softball players move on to the collegiate diamond. Cayden Fleming signed with Brewton Parker, while Raegan Sterrett and Kalee Ortiz both will stay together and signed to play with East Georgia State College.

Tynley Smeltzer, an outside hitter for the last four years, verbally committed to the College of Charleston in November of 2019. She put her signature on the dotted line and with four classmates last Thursday, November 12.  Smeltzer has been recognized as a GHSA  first-team volleyball All-State selection and was the only local player selected to the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) All-Southeast region team. Tynley recorded her 1,000 kills during this season, equivalent to a 1,000 point basketball career scorer.

Cayden was Calvary's presence on the mound. Fleming at the plate batted .345 with a .472 on-base percentage and a team-high 23 runs scored this year.

Raegan was the wall behind the plate as a standout catcher, and she was the Cavaliers leading hitter this year with a .433 batting average. Sterrett had nine doubles,  scored 22 times, and had an on-base percentage of .526

Kalee anchored the middle of the infield. At the dish, Ortiz hit .357, knocked in 17 runs (RBI), and an on-base percentage of .486.
