The road to a state title begins Monday for the remaining Savannah-area Georgia High School Association (GHSA) golf teams as the 2026 GHSA State Golf Championships get underway across Georgia.

After months of region play, qualifying rounds, and long days on the course, five local programs are still standing with hopes of bringing home a state championship.

The two-day championships will be played Monday and Tuesday at courses throughout the state, including two host sites right here in Savannah.

Benedictine Military School boys will compete in the GHSA Class 4A State Championships at historic Savannah Golf Club, while Benedictine is also serving as the official host school for the GHSA Class 4A state golf championships in Savannah.

The GHSA Class 4A girls' championships will be played at Crosswinds Golf Club.

Those two Savannah courses will welcome some of the top golfers from around the state this week.

Returning state low medalist champions Bear Dollander of Benedictine and Ledger Conley of Richmond Hill headline the Savannah-area golfers competing this week.

Local teams still competing include:

Savannah Country Day School boys — Class A-3A Private
Benedictine Military School boys — Class 4A
St. Vincent's Academy girls — Class A-3A Private
Richmond Hill High School boys — Class 6A
Richmond Hill High School girls — Class 6A

Benedictine Military School enters the week with one of the strongest statistical lineups in Georgia Class 4A.

The Cadets are led by junior Bear Dollander, whose impressive minus-3.817 ranking stat is among the top in the classification. BC’s depth also stands out, with Dane Chadwell, Hamp Threlkeld, Jack Weeks, Alex Dao, and freshman Carson Hayes all providing the Cadets with experienced scoring options heading into the state tournament.

Richmond Hill High School boys golf brings an experienced senior-heavy lineup to the Class 6A championships at Bentwater Golf Club.

The Wildcats are led by senior Ledger Conley, whose 0.124 stat shows he has been one of the top golfers in the area this season. Patrick Mahaffey, Mathew Reynolds, Noah Bope, Braden Smith, and Walker Mills round out a lineup that has been battle-tested throughout the year.

Savannah Country Day School boys' golf will compete in the GHSA Class A-3A Private championships at Nob North Golf Club.

The Hornets are led by senior Caden Hartley and sophomore Kohki Maeda, who have given Savannah Country Day a strong one-two scoring combination throughout the season. Charles Morris, Sahaj Patel, Thomas Claiborne, and Miles Vaught add depth to the lineup as it enters state play.

On the girls' side, Richmond Hill High School heads to the Class 6A state competition with a balanced lineup featuring both experience and young talent.

Junior Alexa Mohler leads the Wildcats after posting one of the top scoring stats on the team this season. Freshman Ella Kate Woods has also emerged as a key contributor, while Amanda Puchales, Isabella Romine, Carigan Kicklighter, and Gabriella Nelson give Richmond Hill valuable tournament experience throughout the lineup.

St. Vincent's Academy girls' golf will compete in the GHSA Class A-3A Private championships at Nob North Golf Club.

The Saints are led by senior Ainsley Sheffield and feature a young roster that includes freshmen Sarah Alpert and Eden Stanley. Hazel Marshall, Josslyn Heidik, Gabby Stappenbeck, and Kate Whitaker have helped St. Vincent’s continue building depth and experience throughout the season.

Richmond Hill’s boys and girls teams will travel to Bentwater Golf Club for the Class 6A championships.

Savannah Country Day’s boys team and St. Vincent’s girls squad will compete in the GHSA Class A-3A Private championships at Nob North Golf Club.

The GHSA State Championships are scheduled for 36 holes over two days, with champions crowned Tuesday afternoon.
