Hornet and Cavalier catch the Week 8 John Carr Seaport Real Estate baseball players of the week

John Carr Seaport Real Estate/Prep Sports Report Baseball Players of the Week goes to a Calvary Day School Cavalier and a Savannah Country Day School Hornet. Calvary Day School senior Ethan Belcher is the Player of the Week, while Savannah Country Day School's Brooks Kleinpeter is the Pitcher of the Week for Week 8 of the 2023 prep baseball season.

PITCHER of the WEEK

Player: Brooks Kleinpeter - sophomore Pitcher/Infielder

School: Savannah Country Day School

Sport: Baseball

Week:  April 3 - April 8, 2023

 

 

HIGHLIGHT: Kleinpeter, on the mound against region opponent Liberty County in a Hornet, 9-0 win, on Thursday, April 6, 2023, pitched a complete game shutout, going seven innings, giving up two hits, no earned runs, striking out eleven while walking two. 

 

Note: Brooks was 3 for 4 at the plate with a run batted in and a run scored.

 

 

POSITION PLAYER of the WEEK

Player: Ethan Belcher senior, Pitcher/Infielder

School: Calvary Day School

Sport: Baseball

Week:  April 3 - April 8, 2023

HIGHLIGHT: In three games during the week, Belcher hit .500, going 4 for 8, five runs batted in, and scored five runs. Against Southeast Bulloch on April 4, Ethan was 2-3 with three rbi and scored once; on April 5, versus George Washington Academy, he was 1-3 with another rbi and scored twice. Then on April 6 versus Troup County, 1-2, 2 runs scored, and another rbi.

 

COACH'S COMMENT: "Ethan had a great week and stepped up in big-time situations," said Calvary Day School Head baseball coach Phillip Lee.
