SAVANNAH, Ga. — Savannah Country Day School had a big week from April 7–14, winning region championships in soccer and tennis, and a city title in boys golf.
The week began April 7, when the boys golf team won the City Championship, led by senior Caden Hartley's 4-under-par 68. Miles Vaught (70), Kohki Maeda (72), and Thomas Claiborne (74) helped secure the title. The girls' team finished third, led by Jillian Schmid.

On April 10 at Groves High School's stadium, Country Day kept going. Earning region titles against Woodville-Tompkins, both varsity teams prevailed. In the opening game, the girls clinched their third straight region championship with a 10-0 win. Completing the sweep, the boys followed with a 4-1 victory.

On April 13, the Hornets played in the Benedictine Cadet 4-Ball Tournament. Hartley shot even-par 71, and Maeda fired a 5-under 67, the day’s second-best round. The duo finished second, with Country Day runner-up overall.
On April 14, both varsity tennis teams claimed region championships. The girls beat Savannah Christian 3-0 and St. Vincent’s 3-2, while the boys swept Savannah Christian and Vidalia 5-0 each. Coach Lamar Kirkley noted it’s the girls’ fifth straight and boys’ sixth consecutive title.

From April 7–14, the Hornets delivered championships and solid finishes and are buzzing at the right time of the season, with postseason momentum.
