It's the Home Opener for Memorial Day Matadors in the "NEW" Matadome

The Memorial Day School Matadors play their first game of the season at home.

After a win (scrimmage) vs. Islands High and a win vs. Coastal Hurricanes, the Matadors Varsity Boys will be at home vs. John Paui II

Come out and see the "NEW" MATADOME and see some of Savannah's best players.

MONDAY, DECEMBER 5th:  5 PM (JV BOYS); 6 PM (VARSITY GIRLS); 7:30 (VARSITY BOYS)

MEMORIAL DAY SCHOOL

HEAD COACH: Dale Mock

LEAGUE: GIAA 1A

2021-22 RECORD: 9-13

Memorial was 22-6 two years ago before finishing 9-13 last season in year one under Mock’s guidance. The Matadors had a positive scoring differential last year despite their below .500 record. They averaged 56.1 points per game and allowed 54.2 to opponents.

Sophomore Assir Best and junior Matas Aidietis figure to be the leaders for this year’s club. MDS has a home-and-home scheduled this season with GHSA team Bryan County.

The "Coach" Karl DeMasi has been teaching and coaching for the past 35 years on all levels of academia and athletics. One of his hobbies has been writing, announcing and talking about sports. DeMasi has been involved in the Savannah Area sports scene since 1995, and he created the high school magazine "The Prep Sports Report" in 2000. In 2010, the "Coach" started broadcasting The Karl DeMasi Sports Report. He's still going strong, broadcasting on Facebook live and Twitter live every Saturday morning. You gotta love it!
