Mohler, Richmond Hill girls win Region 1-AAAAAA tournament

Richmond Hill High School's girls' golf team won the Region 1-AAAAAA golf title on April 21 at Spring Hill Country Club in Tifton, Ga., besting Lowndes by three strokes and earning a trip to the Class AAAAAA state tournament.

Richmond Hill sophomore Alexa Mohler won the individual low medalist and was the only player in the field under par with a 2-under par 70 that was three strokes better than Lowndes junior Catherine Odom. Richmond HIll junior Amada Puchales finished T4 with a 4-over par 76.

The third counting score for Richmond Hill was sophmore Isabella Romine's 15-over par 86. The Class AAAAAA state tournament will be played May 19-20 at Kinderlou Forest Golf Club in Valdosta, Ga.
