Prep Sports Report Faces in the Crowd

Carter Holton, Benedictine
Baseball

Carter, a senior, tossed a complete game while striking out 17 batters, walking three, gave up one hit and one unearned run in a complete-game win over Richmond Hill 3-1 on Friday, February 26, 2021. Holton has already committed to play baseball at NCAA Division I powerhouse Vanderbilt University

 

Will Hampton, Calvary Day School
Baseball

Will, a freshman, threw a perfect game, striking out 11 batters in five innings on February 23, 2021. Hampton as a hitter was perfect again. Going 3 for 3 with a double and an RBI.

 

 

 

 

Josh Bieber, HV Jenkins
Baseball

Josh, a senior pitcher, only needed to throw 24 pitches in three innings for the Warriors in the season opener.  By the way, all 24 pitches were for strikes. Jenkins defeated Johnson 15-0.

 

 

 

Brogan Korta, Bryant Brantley, Barry Young, Cam Sanders, Calvary Day School

Track

The Cavs 4x400 relay team of seniors Brogan Korta, Bryant Brantley,  Cam Sanders, and junior Barry Young broke the school record with a 3:38.84, and the old record was 3:42 set last season. Korta also broke both of his own records in the 110 hurdles and 300 hurdles. The Calvary track team defeated Savannah Country Day and Savannah Christian on February 26, 2021.
