Prices wins at Jim Thorpe Invitational

If you're going to win a golf tournament, win in style.

Savannah's Hayden Price, a member of the Class of 2025, chipped in on the first hole of a sudden death playoff to win the Girls 13-15 age division at the Jim Thorpe Invitational played Feb. 17-18 at the Omni Orlando Resort at Championsgate in Orlando, Fla.

Price trailed by two strokes afte the first round, but carded a 4-over 76 in the second round to catch first-round leader Morgan Rodriguez from Delray Beach, Fla. And on the first playoff hole, Price chipped in to claim first place in the prestigious event.

The 2023 Jim Thorpe Invitational offered an unprecedented opportunity to elite junior minority golfers from across the US, Canada, and Caribbean to compete in a signature 36-hole tournament. This annual golf event in Orlando attracts as many as 100 the most talented junior and collegiate golf athletes. The event was created to celebrate Jim Thorpe and increase the amount of minority golfers being introduced to the sport of golf and competing in elite events.
