Richmond Hill HS Building the "HILL" with new team members

Richmond Hill High School has announced three new hires to the Wildcat coaching staff. The positions filled were a baseball coach, cheer competition/sideline coach, and soccer coach for the school year of 2022-23.

Here is their bio's shared by the Wildcats athletic department, and remember, Richmond Hill High School is always building the HILL!

 

Baseball

 

Hill Thomas

Hill Thomas was a 2012 graduate of Early County High School in Blakely, Georgia. He was a four-year starter at catcher for the Bobcats and was named First Team All-Region his junior and senior years. He went on to play junior college baseball under the great Scott Hemming at Darton State College in Albany, Georgia. Hill was part of the first Darton team to make it past the conference tournament and compete in a regional. The team was nationally ranked and won 44 games in 2014. Hill was also named to the GJCAA First Team All-Conference team in 2014. Hill later went on to attend the University of Georgia, where he graduated Cum Laude in 2016 with a degree in Special Education.

Hill began his coaching career at Coffee High School in Douglas, Georgia, in 2017. He was a varsity assistant for three years and the associate head coach for the past two years. He specialized in working with the catchers, hitters, organizing the yearly fundraiser, and any task that was asked of him. During his tenure under Sy Jones, the Trojans program was rebuilt to one of the top in the Class 5A state rankings. In 2022, Hill was recognized as one of the Georgia Dugout Club Assistant Coaches of the Year. Hill also coached football for five years at both Coffee Middle School and Coffee High School.

Hill is engaged to Kennedie Weems, and the two will get married on June 11, 2022. They have a dog named Mae who loves to go to the ballpark.

Hill is beyond thrilled to begin his head coaching career at Richmond Hill High School. He and Kennedie cannot wait to make Richmond Hill their home!

Jillian Yontz

 

Jillian Yontz has spent the past nine years coaching cheerleading at Richmond Hill Middle School, a program which she started and led the team to a State Championship in 2018. Yontz is a 2008 graduate of Richmond Hill High School, where she cheered Varsity Competition and won four Region titles. She is a 2013 graduate of the University of Georgia, where she earned her Bachelor of Science in Education. She was a member of the UGA Club Competition Cheerleading team and won a Cheersport National Title in 2013. In addition to competition cheerleading, Yontz coached the RHMS girls soccer team for five years and won three undefeated Region Championships. Yontz is looking forward to taking her career to the next level by coaching the Varsity Competition and Sideline Cheerleading Team at Richmond Hill High School in the fall of 2022.

Kelly Anderson 

 

Kelly Anderson joined Richmond Hill in the summer of 2019, where she began her teaching career at Richmond Hill High School as a mathematics teacher. Born and raised in Texas, where she completed one year of varsity soccer (freshman year), she moved to Gilbert, Arizona, where she finished high school at Mesquite High School and played three more years of varsity soccer as a captain. Following High School, she stayed local in Arizona and played soccer at a nationally ranked junior college, Mesa Community College, on a full-ride scholarship. Following MCC, Anderson went to a D2 school, the University of Texas Permian Basin, again on a scholarship to complete her soccer career. She also played club soccer in Texas and Arizona since she was in 3rd grade, as well as competed with the regional Olympic Development team on the west coast. After of few injuries, Anderson began her coaching career at Grand Canyon University, where she got her masters in Secondary Education and ran skills camps for 10+ years. She has been an assistant coach at RHHS since 2019.

 

Anderson is married to Bryan Anderson and has three children, Blake (6), Brayden (4), and Bennett (2 months).
